Kintsugi Art Beginner's Workshop
Learn the Japanese art of Kintsugi in a calm serene environment!
Service Description
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by reattaching the areas of breakage with adhesive and powdered gold, silver, or bronze. Through this kintsugi workshop, you'll embark on a transformative journey into the heart of the Japanese art of kintsugi. Led by our instructor, Nilo, a certified kintsugi practitioner with many years of expertise and teaching experience, you'll discover not only the craft of kintsugi but also its profound healing philosophy. The philosophy behind this art form is to treat breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to discard. Kintsugi is a reminder to stay optimistic when things fall apart and to celebrate the flaws and missteps of life. This is an exceptional experience, likely one of the only studios in the world offering this depth of instruction in such a short period. Participants will not only gain a formal overview of the entire technique but also a rich understanding of the cultural, historical, and environmental aspects that make Kintsugi so meaningful.
