Service Description

For the very first time in history, Kintsugi art workshops are being held in Byres Road, Glasgow! Only for 2 days 9th and 16th Sep 2025 from 6:30pm UK time onwards. Each session is £75/ pax which is $96 Singapore $. As the website is a Singapore site, there are certain limitations. Kintsugi is the 500 yr old Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by reattaching the areas of breakage with adhesive and powdered gold. Through this workshop, you'll embark on a transformative journey into the heart of the Japanese art of kintsugi. Led by our instructor, Nilo, a certified kintsugi practitioner with many years of expertise and teaching experience, you'll discover not only the craft of kintsugi but also its profound healing philosophy. Kintsugi is a reminder to stay optimistic when things fall apart and to celebrate the flaws and missteps of life. This is an exceptional experience, likely one of the only studios in the world offering this depth of instruction in such a short period. Participants will not only gain a formal overview of the entire technique but also a rich understanding of the cultural, historical, and environmental aspects that make Kintsugi so meaningful. All materials are provided. For ages 11 and up. Per person SGD$88 or £50. The 20% weekday discount is not applicable as this price is a highly discounted introductory price. What is included in your 3-hour beginner's workshop: 1) An introduction to the history of Kintsugi, how Kintsugi teaches us sustainability and why Kintsugi is considered a healing art. 2) 1 Japanese ceramic of your choice. 3) Full art materials for kintsugi repir.
