Wada Natural Indigo Dye Cotton Scarf
This natural indigo-dye scarf is made of luxurious selvedge cotton in Wada stripe pattern, an artisanal Tokushima weave. The local hand-weaving technique, using a traditional Japanese loom, creates the soft cotton’s elegant appearance and keeps it from fraying.
Natural indigo dyed cotton from Awa, Tokushima, is one of the finest Japanese crafts. Awa natural indigo dye is extremely time-consuming to create involving complex hand dyeing, twisting and fermentation that is unique to the region.
Famously named Japan Blue, the indigo cotton hand-dyed here is extraordinarily vibrant and long lasting. Natural indigo is antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and is eco-friendly, created without the use of damaging chemicals. The unique shades of blue will become more distinct with every wash.
