At Kintsugi Art Studio, immerse yourself in the delicate craft of Kintsugi, an ancient Japanese art form that celebrates imperfection and resilience. The philosophy behind this art form is to treat breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to discard. Our studio offers workshops inspired by SG60 Celebrations and National Day in Singapore, incorporating elements of special Peranakan Ceramics and Tiles for a unique cultural experience. Through this kintsugi workshop, you'll embark on a transformative journey into the heart of the Japanese art of kintsugi. Led by our instructor, Nilo, a certified kintsugi practitioner with many years of expertise and teaching experience, you'll discover not only the craft of kintsugi but also its profound healing philosophy. Kintsugi is a reminder to stay optimistic when things fall apart and to celebrate the flaws and missteps of life. This is an exceptional experience, likely one of the only studios in the world offering this depth of instruction in such a short period of just 3hrs! Participants will not only gain a formal overview of the entire technique but also a rich understanding of the cultural, historical, and environmental aspects that make Kintsugi so meaningful. All materials are provided. For ages 11 and up. What is included in your 3-hour beginner's workshop: 1) An introduction to the history of Kintsugi, how Kintsugi teaches us sustainability and why Kintsugi is considered a healing art. 2) 1 Big Peranakan Tile/Ceramic Plate of your choice 3) Full art materials for kintsugi repir. Please note that the art materials can’t be taken back home. Purely for use in the studio only. 4) Free flow of Japanese Green Tea and snacks. 5) Beautiful Japanese Sakura flower gift box to take home your beautifully restored Kintsugi pieces. Please Note : 1) Cancellation of a prebooked session isn't allowed. But you can reschedule your workshop once within 6 mths.
